Your study data, handled with care
A plain-language explanation of what BIT Study Hub by ebit collects, why it is needed, and what you can control.
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Our purpose
BIT Study Hub by ebit is an independent study platform for BIT students. It brings together subject lessons, quizzes, revision resources, assessments and study tools by year and semester. It is not an official university service.
It is built to help students, not as a personal-profit venture. Premium membership helps cover the costs of keeping the platform available and improving it, including hosting, database services, content tools, email and maintenance. The current package price and duration are shown before checkout.
Information we collect
We collect information needed to operate your account and the features you choose to use:
- Account and profile: name, display name, email address, profile picture if uploaded, BIT student ID, year and semester. Google sign-in may provide basic profile information.
- Membership and payments: chosen package and semester, payment reference, approval status and any bank-transfer receipt you upload. A BIT student ID and WhatsApp number are required when submitting a membership request, but not for a free account.
- Study activity: quiz attempts and scores, GPA if you enter it, lesson and assessment progress, calendar events and resources you use.
- Community and support: chat messages, feedback, support tickets and replies.
- Technical and security data: session information, authentication events, audit records and error diagnostics needed to keep the service working and investigate misuse.
Please avoid including sensitive information that is not needed, especially in chat, support messages or payment-slip images.
How we use information
We use this information to sign you in, show the correct semester’s content, track your study progress, manage memberships and payments, provide chat and support, send service-related emails, protect accounts and improve reliability. We do not sell student information or provide it to third parties for their own advertising.
Your profile’s leaderboard setting controls whether your quiz results and GPA appear on member leaderboards. Chat messages and your displayed name are visible to other eligible members in your semester. Administrators can review relevant records to operate and moderate the platform.
Services that help run the site
We use service providers to operate BIT Study Hub by ebit, including Supabase for accounts, database and file storage; Google for optional sign-in; Vercel for website hosting; Resend for email delivery; and Sentry for error monitoring. These providers process information needed for their role, under their own security and privacy practices. External learning links, including YouTube links, are governed by the destination site’s policy when you open them.
Payment records
Membership requests use offline bank transfer or a supported promo code. We store the information you submit to match a payment with your account and approve access. The site does not ask for card numbers. A receipt image or PDF may itself contain bank details, so review it before uploading. When you submit a membership request, the order details and receipt may be emailed to the authorized payment administrator through our email delivery provider. Payment records may be retained where needed for accounting, support or legal obligations.
Security and retention
We use account authentication, access controls and protected storage for private files such as payment receipts. No online service can promise absolute security. We keep information while it is needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security or meet applicable obligations. Some records may remain for a limited time after account closure where necessary for those purposes.
Your choices
- Update your profile, WhatsApp number and GPA from your account.
- Turn off your leaderboard visibility in your profile settings.
- Ask about access, correction or removal of your information by opening a support ticket from your account or using the contact options on the home page. We may need to verify your identity and retain records required by law or for legitimate operational reasons.
Changes and questions
We may update this policy as the platform changes. The date at the top shows when this version was published. For privacy questions, use the support tickets in your account or the contact options on the home page.
